Acceptable Technology
Education World gives a wonderful overview of ways to use acceptable technology. One of those ways being what is called an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). An AUP is an important document that gives a guideline as to how to use technology in an appropriate manner. The teacher and/or school system can choose to have students signed the document.
An AUP should contain these 6 key elements:
- a preamble,
- a definition section,
- a policy statement,
- an acceptable uses section,
- an unacceptable uses section, and
- a violations/sanctions section.
