How do you ensure equitable digital access in your classroom?

 

Teachers are being asked to incorporate technology more and more into their daily class schedules. There are many factors to consider when ensuring equitable digital access in the classroom. Educators must consider access to hardware and a fair schedule for the use of technolgy while taking into account each students' academic or physically diversities.

 

Here are a few tips to ensure equitable digital access in your classroom. 

 

Equitable Access & Adaptive Tech

 

  • Become familiar and adhere to the school's Acceptable Use Policy to maintain consistency throughout the school.
  • Provide structured guidance in the use of technology.
  • Devise and execute a schedule for use to guarantee universal access. 
  • Identify any relative advantages and disadvantages of individual students. 
  • Solicit student input on technological interests.
